アメリカの禁酒法にはじまり、旧ソ連の禁酒キャンペーンでは家庭での密造が増え、ソ連崩壊後はむしろアルコール消費量は増え、成人男性の平均年齢が3年で5.9歳低下。歴史を見ると大酒飲みもいれば、トランプ氏のように全く飲まなくても過激な政治家もいる。
